We were recently lucky enough to capture one of these once-in-a-lifetime moments right here in one of Essex County’s most picturesque spots: Navy Yard Park in Amherstburg, Ontario.

This wasn’t just any proposal — it was a beautifully orchestrated surprise filled with love, intention, and family involvement. The bride-to-be believed she was arriving at the park for a graduation photo session. Her family and fiancé worked together behind the scenes to make everything perfect — and it absolutely was.

The proposal took place inside one of the charming gazebos at Navy Yard Park. The family had decorated it with romantic red rose petals, a glowing “Marry Me” sign, and a heart-shaped setup where the couple would stand. It was the kind of scene you see in movies — intimate, heartfelt, and visually stunning.

As she stepped inside, expecting graduation portraits, she was instead met with her partner waiting amidst the floral setup, ready to ask her to spend forever with him. Her reaction? Pure joy, shock, and happy tears. It was emotional in all the best ways, and every moment was documented with care.

After the big “yes!” we transitioned seamlessly into a mini engagement shoot around the park. The soft afternoon light, historic charm of the waterfront, and peaceful gardens made for the dreamiest backdrop. Navy Yard Park never disappoints when it comes to romantic, timeless images.
